In one of her last acts as prime minister, Theresa May confirmed that parliament will implement the recommendations of the Committee on Climate Change, creating a legally binding net-zero carbon target for 2050.
This begins the conversation on how and what technology we use to meet these targets. The report names a few technologies such as wind, solar and ground source heat pumps but it failed to name where a large number commercial and residential households will source heat in an efficient, proven and low-carbon manner.
This is one of the cornerstones of the Biomass Heat Works campaign. We do need to make sure that Biomass is included in the conversation on how we meet our targets.
